Henry’s Lake is widely regarded among stillwater fishermen as the finest public trophy stillwater fishery in the Northern Rockies.  Henry's Lake is shallow and approximately 20’ deep at its deepest areas.  It is host to a plethora of rich aquatic insect life responsible for the rapid growth rate of resident fish.  Due to the abundant fishing resources of this lake, it was used as a commercial fishery for the gold mines of Montana in the early 1900s.  Famous for being the site of the Idaho state record for the largest brook trout, the giant fish was caught in 1978, weighing in at 7.2 pounds.  Henry’s Lake has excellent populations of cutthroat, rainbow, and cuttbow trout.  The cuttbows are by far the largest resident fish, tipping the scales up to 16 pounds and nearly 40 inches long.
