With three rivers - Robinson Creek, the Warm River, and the Henry's Fork - converging here, it has always been a great home base for fly fishermen. The world-famous Three Rivers Ranch, an Orvis-endorsed fly fising lodge is located just five minutes from the North Woods Preserve. Virtually all of the Warm River area residents, both full-time and part-time, are avid anglers. It is a first-rate fly fishers’ enclave.
The North Woods Preserve is comprised of approximately 80 acres nestled in an alpine setting adjacent to Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The North Woods Preserve consists of primarily timbered acreage with several ideal homesites. From a number of choice building sites on the property, an incoming owner could choose between Henry’s Fork River views or take advantage of the Teton Mountain Range landscape above the forested tree line. Twenty-inch rainbow and brown trout are not uncommon on this stretch of the Henry’s Fork.
The North Woods Preserve at Warm River is a prime candidate for conservation easement. A little known fact is that Warm River is an actual incorporated city in Idaho. Although no town amenities and services are in place, the North Woods Preserve is located within the designated Warm River town site. The North Woods Preserve and neighboring Caribou-Targhee National Forest both offer an array of recreational opportunities. The ranch is situated approximately 15 miles from Yellowstone National Park’s western boundary and adjacent to Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Given this location, one can see many of the area’s typical wildlife on the ranch. The property provides a great habitat for native big game species, timber-dwelling Ruffed grouse and eagles nesting in the high trees along the river.
