The Old Glendevey Ranch is comprised of approximately 160 acres including pasture, creek bottom and the building compound. The Roosevelt National Forest and Rawah Wilderness are adjacent to the property and elevations range from 8,400 to 13,000 feet. The lower country is dominated by lodge pole pine, while progressively higher elevations evolve into spruce and fir forests, alpine tundra and barren rock formations. There are twenty-five named lakes and the area contains the headwaters of McIntyre, Rawah, and Fall Creeks, as well as the Laramie River.
McIntyre Creek, a freestone tributary of the Laramie River, flows for approximately one mile through the ranch. The creek is a seasonal fishery beginning in mid spring and running until fall. The dominant species of fish are wild brown trout representing all age classes. Brook trout also are evident on the property. Trout respond to flies that are typical of high mountain creeks including the stonefly, caddis, green drake mayfly and blue-winged olive.
