The Lodge on the Bitterroot River is a 49-acre property located in one of Montana’s favorite scenic valleys, the Bitterroot Valley, known for its mild year-round climate and incredible scenery on nearly a mile of the beautiful upper Bitterroot River. The river flows in an arc around the property borders. The Bitterroot River has earned a reputation as one of the top trout rivers in Montana. The Sapphire Mountains to the east and Bitterroot Mountains to the west dramatically frame the ever-changing, four-season landscape. The property is a mix of irrigated ground, landscaped lawns, native grasslands, quaking aspen and Ponderosa Pine forests.
The Lodge on the Bitterroot River is comprised of six quality structures: the Main Lodge, the Fishing Cabins, the Bungalow, the Garage Apartment, the Gym and the River Bend Home. These structures are laid out on 49 timbered acres, wrapped on one side by cascading water. Every one of these buildings has an enchanting ambience, created by their design and their inspiration from the beauty of a legendary Bitterroot River.
The modernized historical lodge constructed of rock, log, and timber, with extended outdoor living areas, is nestled on the western bank of an active stretch of the river. Once a commercial fly fishing lodge, it was completely renovated and re-purposed into a family complex, while keeping the historic nature of the old fishing lodge. The Lodge could easily become a commercial enterprise again, whether a fishing lodge, corporate retreat, resort or VRBO, the site offers itself to many opportunities. Three quality guest suites and the master bedroom are encompassed in the lodge, with three separate guest quarters both near the lodge and at the far upper stretch of the property on a contiguous, separately deeded parcel. Irrigated lawns stay green throughout the summer, and the mature pine and quaking aspen forests provide cover for gamebirds and animals. The Stock Farm Golf Club and the dynamic community of Hamilton are within an easy 15-minute drive.
