    Ranches for Sale in Star Valley, Wyoming

    Star Valley is a picturesque, mountainous valley that was settled in the late 19th century and proclaimed the “Star of All Valleys” by its settlers for its natural beauty and landscape. At 5,600 to 7,000 feet in elevation, the valley is approximately 14 miles wide by 50 miles long. Throughout the early part of the 20th century, agriculture became the focal point of the local economy with an emphasis on dairy farms. Due to the exceptional fishing and hunting in the area, Star Valley has become highly sought after recreational real estate. A 7,200-foot-long airstrip that accommodates private planes is located south of the ranch in Afton, Wyoming, while commercial air services and today’s modern conveniences are found in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Salt Lake City is a 3.5-hour drive south. Star Valley’s premium location is due in large part to its proximity to Jackson Hole and Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
