Personal:

I was blessed with the incredible fortune to be born in Montana, the great-grandson of ranchers AJ and Sarah McDonald, whose history in Montana goes back to the 1880’s. In 1910, the McDonalds founded the Merrimac Cattle Company, located in the Highwood Mountains, east of Great Falls. The ranch was passed down through the generations, and my cousin successfully ranches it to this day. I was raised the son of an attorney in Great Falls, Montana, learning analytical reasoning at an early age. Contracts and problem solving have always been my greatest strengths in real estate. Experience has taught me when the solution requires a team, understanding the value of a good title officer and a good real estate attorney. My grandpa used to tell me I had “cow sense”, a compliment coming from him. He was serious and firm when it came to work, but had a playful side as well. There always seemed to be enough time in the day for recreation, which usually involved fly fishing on the beaver dams behind the ranch house, or shooting prairie chickens with .22’s.

Later as a teenager, I discovered northwest Montana, spending summers on Flathead Lake. I truly believed I’d found God’s playground. Today, I still feel the same way, no matter where I am in Montana. Being outside is a wonderful thing!

In real estate, I consider myself first and foremost an agent to my clients, holding their confidentiality and trust paramount to my own financial interests in every transaction.
